Rare opportunity to acquire a museum quality piece of Canadiana!
Heeney carriages were constructed in both Ontario and Quebec long before the automobile. This four seat buggy appears to retain its’ original DARK GREEN paint, with delicate floral decoration. In addition, the upholstery, if not original, was done many years ago, in the correct style of button tufting, using genuine leather. The top has been re-made in modern vinyl, however, correct oiled leather in the proper grain is available from the Hirsh company in New York, should you like to make it authentic. The shafts appear to have been renewed at some time, but retain the correct blacksmith manufactured fittings, and have been painted flat black. Patent leather fenders appear new, but could be easily antiqued to suit the overall appearance. The fine line lines on the rubber tired wheels can also still be seen on the original paint.
